| Description | The increasing importance of the brush fire type of warfare, in which any conflagration is to be confined immediately to a localized situation, has in proportion increased the importance of the high mobility fighting units. In brush fire warfare it is essential that sufficient manpower and fire power reach the scene of action with minimum delay. The advantage of direct air delivery of the complete fighting unit with all necessary supplies is obvious, and the capability of reliable airdrop with pinpoint accuracy into enemy held territory is fundamentally vital. |
